My husband feels left out. What kinds of things can he do to bond with the baby or help with breastfeeding?
Your husband is one of the best people to support the breastfeeding relationship between you and your baby! Your husband can assist by helping you to position your baby, massaging your breasts while nursing, stroking the baby, or bringing you a drink. He can also bond or help you at other times by changing the baby's diaper, wearing or holding the baby, burping the baby, bringing you the baby to nurse, or rocking the baby.
It is important that the mom get rest and fluids whenever possible. The father can help ensure that mom is well taken care of, in addition to the baby. |
